Regrettably, this motherboard seems to be very iffy when it comes to BIOS updates - I trashed one about 3 weeks ago trying to flash it.

I was able to grab a replacement BIOS chip from an identical duff board we were just about to scrap for other reasons, but they are also available on ebay for about 10 UK pounds.

With the recent unveiling of AMD's Socket AM2 platform, we are starting to see a barrage of new motherboards popping up all over the place.

NVIDIA was the first to join the AM2 fray with their n Force 5XX series chipsets, and we're seeing the results of that early start with the presence of the third n Force 590 SLI motherboard in our lab today. AMD's Socket AM2 review kits originally shipped with a pre-production sample of the M2N32-SLI, sporting a revision number of 1.02G.

n VIDIA's n Force 500 series chipsets are fast, we'll tell you that right now, but more importantly they are 'Intel-stable' and reliable.

That kind of reassurance has allowed AMD to make breakthroughs in the workstation and server markets; both areas where Intel is the undisputed 500 pound gorilla.

Edit: Position of BIOS in socket (circled), below CMOS battery: i read the solution at the link you provided. besides not having a PCI video card, i'm not sure if i got the discharging myself onto the chassis part. oh, you monstrous ASUS update utility how i hate you and if i had known you were so buggy!
